$27,000 awarded to the Lewis and Clark Area to supplement emergency food and shelter programs


and Alan a Lewis and Clark County area will receive more than $27,000 in federal funds that money will be used to supplement emergency food and shelter programs the funding comes from the FEMA emergency food and shelter program it’s around ten thousand dollars more than last year the United Way of Lewis and Clark area is currently accepting applications from established local programs that will help with housing and feeding people in crisis United Way says nonprofits often fill the gaps in the community and this funding will help those organizations keep their doors open especially with all nonprofits I know we’re down with their funding ability because of tax laws and stuff like this so this just helps keep them going and helps close that gap when your fundraising is low over the past three decades the Helena Lewis and Clark County area has received more than half a million dollars through this program
