Today we’re talking about suplements…finally! I’ve received a lot of questions about suplements There’s a reason why I’m just talking about this now I once heard a sentence that I love…and almost wished it was mine : ‘You must earn your right to suplement!’ This basically means that food should be your number one nutrient source So you should aim to have a good clean diet first…and only then you should suplement if you workout hard! Let’s start with Protein This is the the King of suplements I take it at least twice a day…usually mid morning and right after workout Multi-Vitamin – If you’re like me and dislike vegetables you should suplement with it This gets you the amount of vitamins and minerals you need the most! This helps with vitality, boosts immune system, helps with food absorption… I could be talking about this all day but I’m not Wikkipedia am I ? Omega 3 – This one is really important for everybody I think this should be mandatory wether you workout or not The benefits include better cardiovascular and brain function as well as reducing inflamation This really is important for anyone, not just athletes ZMA – Zinc and Magnesium A lot of benefits including recovery from workouts but the most important to me… Is helping with sleep quality…something we all need right? CLA – Conjugated Linoleic Acid A bunch of good fats derived from fish Some of the benefits of Omega 3 and it aids a little in fat loss BCAAs and Glutamine Amino Acids in free form aiding in muscular recovery and maintenance Even though they are already present in Protein suplements You can use these for instance between workouts, if you’re one of those people who train for several hours at a time That way you won’t catabolize as much! This one has a lot of controversy to it – Tribulus This is a plant extract which boosts testosterone levels Which means gains in strength and muscle mass However nowadays it’s been said this isn’t true and that Tribulus does not raise testosterone at all You should try for yourself and see if it works for you or not One thing is for sure…us guys get a libido increase with this…it’s kinda like the blue pills Creatine – Either in formula or micronized Strength and endurance I recommend this to those who take their training seriously and want to better their performance Beta alanine – present in some products like this one, Lacti Cell Have you ever felt that burning sensation when you workout? As if the muscle wants to explode? That means you’re developing lactic acid, which is normal when you do a lot of reps Beta Alanine aids in minimizing the effects of that acid…and therefore endure your workouts a lot better! This way you can get more reps and better your performance Beta Alanine is known to give you a prickling sensation But this is normal don’t get scared! Last of all…we have pre workout suplements like Nitric Oxide boosters or Thermogenics These scare me a little…I don’t do well with those! They have a lot of cocain….oops…caffeine…and other stimulants to give you an energy boost The nitric oxide means it promotes vasodilation which is a bigger pump in your muscles Nothing against them but it’s not for me…I tend to get…uhh… What did you say you asshole? Shut th F*ck Up! Yo! I sware I’m coming down and beat the living crap out of you! Spend your money wisely High quality foods always first Suplements are merely insurance policies I didn’t talk about the servings or its timings ’cause that varies per label…and is always there anyways But remember…Training; Diet and Rest are what’s important! It’s what brings us results Take care of those 3 and I’ll see you later!
