Toothache + No Health Insurance = Death

economy is going to be in the crowd for
the next three of four maybe more years maybe six years uh… to be a different situation but at the same time you’ve got people
who are actually going to pay for that calculation i mean we’re in a
dilemma i’m not unlike the red sox for many years red sox would never have a rebuilding year so they’d get made me they’d get it did
they do i was getting to the penetrates they would keep the fans happy but they
would never get all the way and uh… that is sort of the dilemma we
have a i don’t i don’t have the answer i heard this uh… in in in terms of the implications of wide a president perry would be let
me just give you an example the story from a_b_c_ a twenty
four-year-old cincinnati father i think the guy had twenty uh… twenty four-year-old cincinnati father died from a tooth infection because he couldn’t afford is medication i guess it started with this guy kyle
wilson wisdom tooth started hurting uh… three or four weeks ago dentist told amid needed to be pulled
pulled any decided to forego the procedure
because he was an implied it had no health insurance when it’s fully started to swell in his
head began to eight which of course is a sign it you’ve got an infection and start spread he went to the emergency room he received prescriptions for
antibiotics and pain medications the guy couldn’t afford boats and so it shows the pain medications the tooth infection spread causing his brain to swell he died last week and you know this is not the first of
these stories i it was a twelve-year-old kid who had the exact same situation or more elects uh… he went through a couple weeks of
hospitalization i can remember uh… how he paid for but if parents can
afford ed didn’t have a health insurance it couldn’t what the eighty dollar extraction to pull out his tooth or they didn’t go to see a doctor
because uh… they didn’t have insurance they had lost his medicaid benefits and he couldn’t afford uh… the dental
surgery so twelve-year-old kid dot kaiser family foundation reports the
thirty three percent of people surveyed in april skip dental care dental checkups ’cause
they couldn’t afford it a two thousand three report by the u_s_
surgeon general found that a hundred made million americans had no dental
insurance nearly two point five times the number
of who had no health and risk the numbers probably higher today and the affordable care act is actually
going to help people like this assuming it’s intact by the family gets twenty fourteen ardyss report by the comma found that
center seventy two percent of people lost their health insurance when they
lost their jobs said they skipped needed etc healthcare or did not fill
prescriptions because it cost people wanna believe there’s a safety
net the catch is all these people while there isn’t says doctor glenn stream
president-elect of the american academy of family pediatricians the affordable
care act will not deal with all this but it will
deal with much of this if you have president parry you’re almost surer to have the affordable care act alike so when you make this determination and it’s not your determination may may not a impact
the election whatsoever one way or another but when you make this determination
understand the calculation that you’re making more people will die

  1. Cleopatra died of some tooth infection.
So, in a nutshell, healthcare in the US is about the same as it was in ancient Egypt. Way to go, you yanks.

  2. more people WILL die and republicans don't give a shit too them its survival of the fitest(sp?) just one less person in the world whatevs…. i have selfish assholes

  3. it sounds like to me the system work. He got all the care he needed, he jsut didnt take his medications. You can't fix stupid

  4. @Kardiatheon All he received was pain medication to cope with the pain of the toothache. He could not afford the antibiotics which would have dealt with the infection that killed him. So no, he did not get the care he needed.

  5. @SamSeder I total feel honored that you responded. From what I know of medication, pain ones cost alot more then anitiotics. In loose terms like 4 times as much. Want I'm tring to say here is. The dentist told him to take two each and call him in the morning. He took 1 each the one that would help with pain rather then fix the illness. Don't think me cold, I'm sry he's dead, but it's not like he could'nt afford a antiboitc but he could afford a pain med. There is more to this story.

  7. I'm 28. No insurance. I had 2 infected teeth. I got the treatment and made arrangements to pay it in monthly payments. There is no excuse to die from something like this.

  8. @SamSeder Are you sure? From the video, it said that he could have bought the antibiotics, but he chose the pain meds. IDK the guy, I don't know what really happened, but that's what the video said O.o

  9. @agrv8ion

There were lodge practices that would provide a years care for between a dollar and a dollar and a half. Some doctors thought this was beneath their rank and demanded licensing schemes to restrict the supply of doctors. In addition this sort of arrangement today would be branded as an illegal insurance scheme. A few doctors recently tried to re-introduce this model of care, but were prevented from doing so be the byzantine maze of medial regulations.

  10. I'm not making light of this, but a prescrption of penicillin costs like $8. You don't have to have medical coverage to afford amox or cipro or some other widely use antibiotic. I just can't believe that a person walked into an emergency room with an obvious infection like that and they didn't treat him. ER nurses and docs understand what can happen when an infection caused by a bad tooth goes untreated. Somebody really dropped the ball here… What a shame… so unnecessary,,,

  11. I just wanna take this time to pray upon those of you who have a really bad toothache or any health problem, "father god first of all i wanna say that i am grateful and thankful for every blessing that you put upon my life opening my eyes to bigger and better things, and guiding me throughout my life, i also just wanna pray for those who have a really bad toothache or any other illnesses, heavenly father i also pray for those who need to be forgiven for any sins that they commited lord i pray that you bless and humble each and every negative person in this world, give them the strength to move on to a brighter future no matter what pain they go threw i pray you give them the faith to be strong in you father god, and i say this prayer in the name of our savior jesus christ amen and amen". Love you all and be strong in the lord and be sure to ask questions when you are visiting any clinic ok. Much love from one human being to another and another and ect.☺
